A skilled, self-motivated mechanic who can find the real problem and fix it right the first time.
This is an experienced role. We’re looking for a mechanic who’s comfortable troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and diesel engine issues on their own, and who takes the time to get every repair done right.
What you’ll do
- Diagnose and repair diesel engines
- Troubleshoot hydraulic systems
- Repair electrical systems, wiring, sensors and controls
- Service brakes, suspensions, steering, drivetrains and transmissions
- Do preventative maintenance inspections
- Weld and fabricate repair parts when needed
- Research, read and interpret service manuals, wiring diagrams and schematics
- Keep accurate repair records
- Handle occasional repairs out in the field
What we’re looking for
Minimum qualifications
- 2+ years of heavy equipment and/or heavy truck repair experience
- Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills
- Able to work on your own without constant supervision
- Welding and fabrication experience preferred
- Able to lift 75+ pounds
- Valid driver’s license
- CDL, or the ability to get one, is preferred
Strong working knowledge of
- Diesel engines: Cummins, Caterpillar, International and other heavy-duty diesel platforms
- Hydraulics: pumps, cylinders, valves, hydraulic motors, hydraulic troubleshooting and leak diagnosis
- Electrical: 12V and 24V systems, charging systems, starting systems, sensors and controls, wiring repairs and diagnostics
- Mechanical: air brake systems, suspensions, steering systems, drivetrain components, differentials, PTO systems, trailer repair
