Shop Hand / Mechanic Assistant

What you’ll do

• General shop and yard maintenance, cleaning and organization
• Wash and clean trucks and equipment
• Help our full-time mechanic with routine maintenance and light mechanical repairs on trucks and heavy equipment
• Run heavy equipment to load trucks and customers with materials in the yard
• Load, unload and organize underground utility supplies and construction materials
• Pick up and deliver parts and supplies as needed

What we’re looking for

• Experience running heavy equipment, including loaders and skid steers, preferred
• Basic mechanical knowledge and familiarity with tools
• Construction, agricultural or mechanical experience preferred
• Able to safely load, unload and handle construction materials
• Valid driver’s license required; CDL is a plus
• Dependable, self-motivated and willing to take on a variety of tasks
• Able to work on your own and as part of a team

You’ll fit in here if you like working with your hands, are comfortable around heavy equipment and are willing to pitch in wherever needed.
